San Mateo Middle College

Middle College Fall 2016 application deadline March 22

San Mateo Middle College, an educational program for juniors and seniors in the San Mateo Union High School District, is accepting applications for Fall 2016.  The application deadline is March 22.

Middle College, located at College of San Mateo, includes 70 students who take a combination of high school and college classes. Students can earn nearly 40 college units by attending Middle College for two years.

The students, who prefer not to attend a traditional high school campus, demonstrate the potential maturity to cope with the freedom of the college environment.

MCHS graduates are attending University of San Francisco, UCLA, UC Berkeley, San Jose State, Clark, San Francisco State, Santa Clara, UC Davis and CSM.

Students interested in the program can contact the Middle College office. Applications are available on-line or in the SMUSHD counseling offices and career centers.

Students are recommended for admission by parents and school staff. Other application procedures include student testing, an information meeting, and interviews with students and parents. For more information, call the Middle College office at 574-6536 or middlecollege@smuhsd.org or visit http://www.collegeofsanmateo.edu/middlecollege.
