Help the Families of SMUHSD Graduates Lost in Oakland Fire

Alex and MichaelaLast week Capuchino High School and San Mateo High School lost members of their school communities in a fire in Oakland. The Mustang community lost Alex Vega (Class of 2012) and his girlfriend Michaela Gregory. San Mateo High lost Jennifer Morris (Class of 2013). At Capuchino, students will be using the statue in front of the main office as a place for community members to gather and keep their memory in their hearts. We encourage you to donate flowers, money or just take a moment to reflect and remember the victims. The flowers and the money collected this week will be donated to the victims' families. Listed below are additional opportunities to support other victims and families.Jennifer Morris Photo from Facebook

Local Businesses Supporting the Victims:

  • Big Mouth Burger Dec. 12th, 5pm-10pm (851 Cherry Ave., San Bruno)
  • Toto's Pizza Dec 15th 5pm-10pm (1690 El Camino Real, San Bruno)

The SMUHSD grieves the loss of all our graduates lost this past semester and our thoughts are with their families. Alex and Jennifer will be missed by the staff members who knew them as good students and talented artists.
