Attention 8th Grade Parents: Upcoming Math and Reading Placement Tests

In the near future, eighth grade students who plan to attend school in the San Mateo Union High School District (SMUHSD) will be meeting with guidance staff to choose classes for the ninth grade year at all six high schools. The SMUHSD has adopted the Scholastic Reading Inventory (SRI) and the Scholastic Math Inventory (SMI) as placement tests. Guidance staff will use these results along with transcripts and results from the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) to help advise parents and students regarding course choices. All incoming freshmen must be tested. Please click here to see the complete testing schedule.
