Keynote Speaker: Longtime Bay Area Community Organizer and Musician, Francisco Herrera

Please join us for our second annual Education and Empowerment Conference on Saturday, March 18th from 8:00am-1:00pm at San Mateo High School. By attending this FREE conference, you will learn how to support your student’s success in high school, and students will learn how to succeed in high school and beyond while maintaining a strong identity. You will hear important information and perspective from keynote speaker Francisco Herrera. There will be informative and helpful parent and student workshops -- all presented in English and Spanish.

  • Sample Parent/Family Workshops: Navigating the School System​ and ​The College Process, Communicating with Your Teenager About Mental Health 
  • Sample Student Workshops: AVID Student Panel – How to Succeed in High School and Go to College, Identity & Pride
  • Breakfast, lunch and entertainment will be provided
  • Babysitting for children 4 years of age and up available

  • You can also register by completing the Registration Form/Formulario de Inscripción and returning it to the Parent Involvement Coordinator or a counselor at your site.
