Board Meeting Highlights: LCAP, Later Start Related Recommendations, Teacher/Staff Housing Update

iStock Board Meeting MicrophoneSMUHSD’s Board of Trustees invites you to its Thursday, May 25, 2017 regular meeting. At this meeting, staff will provide updates on three topics of school and community interest:

  • Staff will provide an update on the Student Wellness and Parent Engagement Goal (“Goal 3”) of this year's LCAP. In addition, the District will provide a brief overview of the California Dashboard, the State of California's new tool for evaluating district and school performance and progress.
  • At the March 23rd meeting, the Board of Trustees, by a majority, did not vote in favor of a later start, but instead voted to explore related recommendations that would give families options. Staff will provide an update on related recommendations at the meeting.
  • Staff will provide a summary of our housing exploration efforts to date. The project is currently “on hold” until the SMUHSD can find a more central home for Peninsula Alternative High which is a critical piece in providing needed affordable housing for our staff.

The public meeting will take place at the San Mateo Adult School, 789 E Poplar Ave, San Mateo starting at 7pm. Click HERE to see the entire agenda.
