Burlingame High School Student Earns Jefferson Award

Larissa at the home plate ceremony SF Giants

Larissa Qian of Burlingame High School was selected as a Jefferson Award San Francisco Giants Home Plate ceremony honoree for her commitment to volunteerism and public service. Larissa has touched the lives of many in our local and international community through her dedicated leadership and service. Whether it is mentoring a peer as part of the YMCA Youth & Government delegation, securing the position of a Supreme Court Justice for this group, leading the One Dollar For Life Club (ODFL) or the Leo's Club (Lion's Club International) as President, Larissa demonstrates incredible passion and commitment to serving others. Each year, ODFL runs a bread tag collection program in which funds are used to purchase a wheelchair for an individual in need. In addition, through Larissa's dedication, hard work and commitment, ODFL also raised money to support the funding of a birthing center in Nepal. These are just a couple of examples of how Larissa's leadership have helped those in need. We are proud of Larissa for her commitment to volunteerism and public service!
