English Language Development (ELD) Students Visit Library for First Time

Katherine Ramirez Gets Library Card from Librarian Paul
This past summer, 18 English Learner Development (ELD) I students attended a field trip to the San Mateo Public Library. For nearly all of them, it was their first time in the library. The students received a tour with Librarian Paul. They visited each floor of the library and learned about the magazine collections, business section, Spanish language section, teen section and children section. Additionally, the students learned about the free computer usage and printing, study rooms available and how to check out and return books. At the end of the tour, students were able to roam the library and about eight students checked out materials to bring home. Thank you for supporting this opportunity and helping make it possible!
