Orientation and Programming Events for Incoming 9th Graders

Orientation and Programming Events

The SMUHSD holds Orientations and Programming events at all comprehensive San Mateo Union High School District schools.

This is an opportunity for incoming 9th graders and their families to learn about available classes, receive informational packets with  class schedules and ask questions of the school's counselors. Orientation is typically a group event.

A short time after the orientation, after you have had time to "digest" the class schedule and selection as a family, you will attend a programming event where you will meet with a counselor and actually select classes in consultation with counselors.

These are important events to attend with your student. They will help acclimate your student to the academics of the school and ensure that your student gets off to a smooth start for their four years of high school!

To learn the schedule for these important events at each of our comprehensive high schools, please visit the school of your interest.
