Meet the fantastic UASB 2017-2018 Cabinet!
Josh Hafter, President
Hello! My name is Joshua Hafter and I am the President of UASB for 2017-2018. I am a junior at Capuchino High School and participate in clubs such as Interact Club and Students in Action. My hobbies are participating in Track & Field and Cross Country for the last two years. The reason I love UASB so much is that I am able to connect with so many kids across the district. Being able to bond with others is absolutely incredible. I am able to make a social network in order to contact other representatives of each school which benefits in events between two or more schools.
Kei Nomura, Vice President
I am a sophomore at Burlingame High School. While juggling academics and extracurriculars, I love to listen to music, play basketball, and go on adventures. This is my first year involved with leadership at Burlingame and I have worked with clubs including student in action. I am now working with this cabinet and I hope to continue doing so. I am excited to be working with this cabinet and being able to communicate with the other schools in the district this year.
Shannon Huang, Secretary
Shannon Huang is currently junior representing Mills High School with the role of UASB Secretary. She is highly involved in her school community given her many leadership positions as well as her role in public relations. On top of her passion for leadership, she enjoys trying new things such as cheerleading and wrestling. By being in the UASB cabinet, she hopes to form a sense of unity within the District while keeping the friendly competition that keeps high school engaging.
Jenna Whitaker, Community Relations
I am a senior at San Mateo High School. I am the student body secretary at San Mateo High School and was apart of the Renaissance leadership team last school year. I also participate in Girl Up Club, Yoga Club, Varsity soccer, and Varsity cross country at San Mateo High School. I am very excited to be working with an amazing group of hard working leaders for the 2017-2018 UASB school year.
Zola Nesbitt, Public Relations
I am a junior at Hillsdale High School and am involved with a variety of extracurriculars. I am the head commissioner of the Knoisy Knights Club, won the “Most Spirited Award” my freshman year and was HHS Cheer captain sophomore year. I have been on Hillsdale’s Dance Ensemble for the past two years and won the “Best Facials” award voted on by my team. I have also been working at Pump It Up (Belmont) during the summer. I am also working hard in my adult martial arts classes outside of school, AP Biology, and Honors English while maintaining an average of a 3.6 GPA. I love music, badminton, and outdoor activities.
Gianna Garcia, Treasurer
I am a junior at Aragon High School. Aside from leadership, I have played golf, soccer, and track for Aragon. I have been a part of the leadership class since my freshman year, and find it to be the highlight of my high school career so far. I love to meet new people and show school spirit. I am glad to be a part of UASB to unify the leadership classes of the district and to make it the best year possible.
