Margarita Navarro joined the San Mateo Union High School District in 2010 as an assistant principal at Capuchino HS. Ms. Navarro is excited to return to SMUHSD and serve as an assistant principal at San Mateo High School. Ms. Navarro is an experienced educator with a “students first” and equity-focused mindset, having served in various leadership roles for the past 25 years. Currently, Ms. Navarro is pursuing a Doctorate of Education at the University of Southern California. She received a BA in Social Science at SJSU, a MA in Secondary Education at STEP/Stanford, and a MA in Educational Leadership at PLI/ UC Berkeley. She is a first-generation, bilingual/bicultural Latin/x educator whose life’s work is to support ALL students in reaching their highest potential.
