Eligibility and Enrollment Process

Teacher Eligibility Criteria
Teachers with a valid California Preliminary single subject and/ or education specialist credential by October 1st of the participating year may be eligible to participate in the SMUHSD Teacher Induction Program.
Enrollment Process
- During the hiring process, the District Human Resources Credential Analyst gives participating teachers an employment packet containing enrollment and credential information forms.
- The District Human Resources Credential Analyst evaluates the credential information form to determine renewal requirements and eligibility for the induction program.
- The participating teacher receives notification from the District/ HR that they are eligible for the SMUHSD Teacher Induction Program.
- The participating teacher attends New Teacher Orientation, completes a letter of commitment and submits it to the Induction Program Coordinator to enroll in the SMUHSD Teacher Induction Program
