Raising teens can be one of the most challenging jobs you may ever have. If your student is not attending school or is exhibiting difficult behaviors, we can help.

The San Mateo Union High School District has developed a Family Support Group with parents and primary caretakers in mind.

Learn about:

• Parent-child communication
• Positive behavior management
• Interpersonal relationships
• Healthy boundaries
• Strategies that promote school success
• Self-care strategies and coping skills to manage stress
• Tobacco, Vapes, Cannabis, and other drugs

Our goal is to provide you with the tools you need to proactively resolve conflicts with your teens, improve their attendance and enhance their well-being.

Sessions are offered in English and also in Spanish. Parents/guardians can join the sessions at any date:

• English: Wednesdays, November 15 - December 20, 2023, 6 - 8 p.m.
  
  • Location: San Mateo High School Bio Tech Conference Room, 506 N. Delaware Street, except for December 20 session, which will be held at SMUHSD, 650 N. Delaware Street, San Mateo  
• Spanish: Tuesdays, November 14 - December 19, 2023, 6 - 8 p.m.
  • Location: San Mateo High School Bio Tech Conference Room, 506 N. Delaware Street, except for December 19 session, which will be held at SMUHSD, 650 N. Delaware Street, San Mateo

Un programa del Distrito de Escuelas Preparatorias de San Mateo

Criar adolescentes puede ser uno de los trabajos más difíciles que pueda tener. Si su estudiante no asiste a la escuela o muestra comportamientos difíciles, podemos ayudarlo.

El Distrito Escolar de Escuelas Preparatorias de San Mateo ha desarrollado un GRUPO DE APOYO PARA FAMILIAS con padres y cuidadores de los estudiantes de nuestras escuelas.

Aprenda acerca de:

• Comunicación entre padres e hijos.
• Manejo de comportamiento positivo.
• Relaciones interpersonales
• Estrategias que promueven el éxito escolar
• Estrategias de autocuidado y habilidades de afrontamiento para manejar el estrés
• Tabaco, cigarrillos electrónicos, cannabis y otras drogas

Nuestro objetivo es brindarle las herramientas que necesita para resolver de
manera proactiva los conflictos con sus adolescentes, mejorar su asistencia y mejorar su bienestar.

Los padres/guardianes pueden unirse a las sesiones en cualquier fecha.

Estas sesiones son para familias de habla español:
martes, 14 de noviembre  - 19 de diciembre, 2023, 6 - 8 p.m. 

Lugar: Las sesiones grupales se llevarán a cabo en San Mateo High School - BioTech Conference Room - 506. N. Delaware Street EXCEPTO POR Diciembre 19, lo cual tendra lugar en la oficina de San Mateo Union High School District, 650. N. Delaware Street, San Mateo.
