Welcome from the HHS Administration

August 1, 2021
Dear Hillsdale Families,
Welcome to Hillsdale High School, 2021-22. We are so excited to see all of our students in person in the coming weeks. We hope that our school is a place where you feel welcome, seen and coached to be your best self. Last year was the most challenging that we have ever faced as educators and we know that we will all continue to face challenges in the coming year, caused by social and economic inequities, the on-going effects of the pandemic and the difficulty of transitioning back to in-person learning. While acknowledging the work that we face, we remain excited to start the new year and are committed to providing students with the same support, community, and rigorous instruction that characterize the Hillsdale experience year after year.
Hillsdale High School has been providing the unique and personalized educational experience of Smaller Learning Communities (SLCs) to our students for nearly 20 years. This Smaller Learning Community model allows us to truly get to know our students and support them throughout their high school experience. We know that now, more than ever, this is an essential part of life at Hillsdale. We are prioritizing these connections and are here to support the learning and social emotional needs of our students.
We will work to provide the moments that characterize a memorable and excellent high school experience for all students. These moments will evolve and change as we return to school, but they will be indelible because of relationships, and relationships are something that we can nurture.
We are here for our students and families and have missed you all dearly this last year and a half. We look forward to seeing you all again in person.
In community,
Jeff Gilbert
