Teens in Grades 7-12 are invited to join Burlingame-Hillsborough Youth Poet Laureate Lauren Lin
for a series of Saturday poetry workshops (no previous experience needed!) this fall:
Monday, November 20 at 5:00pm
Monday, December 18 at 5:00pm
*November 20 will include a special informational session about the rules, duties, benefits, and
application requirements to apply for the next Youth Poet Laureate position.
Poetry Workshops will take place in the Upper Level Meeting Room of the Main Library and are for any teens
interested in poetry, but will also help you prepare to apply for the 2024-2025 Youth Poet Laureate position.

On Friday, December 1 between 6:00pm-8:00pm, teams of six teens will work together to solve puzzles and crack codes
to ESCAPE the Winter Wonderland at the Burlingame Public Library.
Before and after your escape attempt you can hang out, eating festive holiday treats, playing games, and crafting.
Each person will need their own spot on the list to be eligible to participate. Register here for your preferred timeslot:
Teens and Seniors 60+ are invited to join us for a series of intergenerational poetry workshops centering mental health
with Youth Poet Laureate Lauren Lin. Workshops will take place on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month at 4:30pm, starting December 7, 2023 through April 18, 2024
and no previous poetry experience is needed! Refreshments will be provided at each workshop.
Workshops will culminate in an optional May 2024 open mic performance for Mental Health Awareness Month.
