2022 Activities
December 2022: District Office staff checked a few things off their holiday gift lists at the Bay Academy Holiday Boutique at the District Office on December 12. Bay Academy students from across the District were on hand selling everything from blankets, tye-dye accessories, dog treats, bracelets and more - all items were handmade by the kids. The holiday boutique provided a great experience for Bay Academy students to learn about making a product, sales, customer service skills and more.
November 2022: The San Mateo Union High School District appreciates the volunteer work of our Bay Academy students who work at Hillsdale High School's Peace Pantry all year long. Students help with loading and delivering of groceries to families in the Hillsdale High School community. The partnership between Bay Academy and the HHS Peace Pantry began in 2021 and has provided Bay Academy students with the opportunity to build work skills and help their community at the same time. Students are able to build independence, work on reading and locating addresses, and following directions. This opportunity prepares them for paid work experience when they turn 18 and enter the Bay University program.
