Trades Introduction Program
Interested in working in the Trades? Are you interested in a career in construction but unsure which craft to pursue or where to begin? The San Mateo County Trades Introduction Program (TIP) can help! The San Mateo County Union Community Alliance and Local Apprenticeship Programs offer a certificated, Apprenticeship-Readiness Training course that prepares trainees to enter a green construction career ladder through state-certified joint apprenticeship training programs.
The program lasts approximately 20 weeks, with classes twice a week from 6-9 p.m. The Trades Introduction Program (TIP) Orientation is currently recruiting for their February 2024 cohort and the next orientation for that cohort is next Saturday, December 2 at 9 a.m.
Orientation attendance is mandatory for anyone wishing to apply for the Trades Introduction Program (TIP).

2024 Young Worker Leadership Academy at UC Berkeley
Apply for the 2024 Young Worker Leadership Academy at UC Berkeley - an all-expense paid, fun, activity-packed, leadership training for California youth (ages 14-18) on job health and safety.
- A chance to travel to UC Berkeley to work with your team (4 youth and 1 adult advisor) during and after the training to create a community project to promote safe jobs for youth.
