October 16, 2022

  • Good evening, Dons!

    • Tue 10/18: Volleyball Dig Pink Game + Fundraiser bit.ly/donsdigpink22 to donate!
    • Tue 10/18- Wed 10/19: Spirit Commission is selling Pink Out t-shirts for $10 at lunch for students.
    • Thu 10/20: Girls Water Polo Senior Night + Pink Out Game
    • Fri 10/21: Pink Out Day + Football Pink Out Game

PTSO Parent Education Night - Wed 10/19: Stress & Anxiety Management
    Wednesday, October 19 @ 7pm via Zoom.
The AHS PTSO & AHS Wellness Counseling Team will present to parent and students on stress management.  Please join us and learn how to manage stress and anxiety - and still succeed in high school!

October 1-31: National Filipino History Month.
At the SMUHSD Board Meeting on Thursday, October 13th, the San Mateo Union High School District
proclaimed the Month of October, 2022 as Filipino American History Month and encourages all
residents to honor Filipino American history and culture.

October 1-31: LGBTQ+ History Month.  In alignment with our district - and in solidarity and support of our Aragon staff and students - we raised the Progress Pride flag yesterday in celebration of LGBTQ+ History Month.  This flag will fly on campus just under our national and state flags on the flag pole in Center Court.  For information on this flag and supports that are available for our students across the gender and sexuality spectrums, please see this slide deck curated by our very own Mr. Vince Bravo.

Changes in Free Student Entrance to Football & Basketball Games.  In mid-September, several schools across the district noted an increase in the number of behavioral issues occurring at our athletic events involving students who did not attend either of the schools participating in the sporting event.  Please be advised that going forward, Aragon students will have free entry to athletic events hosted by district schools ONLY when Aragon is playing - they can access this by showing their current year school ID (the physical card - not a photo of it) and signing up by lunch on the Thursday prior to the game.  Students wishing to attend non-Aragon games will need to pay for entry.

    Bell Schedule Updates:
We will have ONE change to the bell schedules this month - on Monday, October 31 - as we host a Halloween Costume Contest with our staff and students.  For those of you new to Aragon, this event is a big deal: academic departments choose dress-up themes and compete for the honor of being selected by the student body for best costumes.  Who will win this year?!?

    On the Calendar:

There are MANY upcoming events on the calendar.  Please check them out on the calendars linked below:

    Thank you,
