District's goals

  • Every August, as school begins, the Board of Trustees approves Annual Goals.  These goals focus the work of the district around key initiatives that are beyond the usual continuous improvement activities.  The goals generally address activities in curriculum and instruction, personnel, business, and operations or facilities.

To the extent possible, the District's annual goals are tied to the three year Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) goals.  Typically, the Local Control and Accountability Plan goals are focused on academic achievement measures, while Annual Goals cover broader aspects of the district's operation.

After the Annual Goals are approved by the Board of Trustees, the superintendent writes personal goals and activities that address these goals.  Similarly, all other members of Superintendent's Council commit to activities to address the District goals as they relate to their particular department.
