Youth Volunteer application
Open to High School students ages 14-17 who are interested in becoming a Mills-Peninsula Health Services Volunteer.
Ideal candidates are students who have a sense of service to their community, can function in a complex health care environment independently, and are able to follow instructions. Youth volunteers must be able to interact well with patients of all ages and have a willingness to help. Commitment Expectations: Mills-Peninsula Health Services asks a ONE- year commitment to the Youth Volunteer program, which involves a minimum of one 3-4 hour shift every week. Youth volunteers must complete an online application and submit consent forms signed by a parent/guardian and also by an academic counselor.

Star Vista has a Health Ambassador Program for Youth. HAP-Y is paid volunteer opportunity for youth, ages 16-24, who are interested in learning more about topics relating to mental health wellness. There are two opportunities to volunteer with students at Lomita Park Elementary and with Taylor Middle School. The Leaders in Training (LIT) program is a job training program where you will assist staff in programming, administrative duties, and tutoring.
There is also a Keystone Leadership program where you will plan, develop, and be responsible for hosting special events and fundraisers. You will also participate in job training and college and career development opportunities.

This is an opportunity for students to gain exposure to a healthcare setting while providing valuable volunteer service to their community.
