    OnYourMind - Peer Supported Teen Crisis Chat

    Onyourmind.net is a StarVista program that provides a safe and anonymous place for teens & youth to talk, find support, and explore resources. Reaching out can feel overwhelming and scary, especially to a stranger. You can talk about anything that’s on your mind- including relationships, school, depression, stress, suicide, friends, parents, cutting, identity, and health. We don’t share your information outside of the chat.

    All are welcome on the chat. We ask that you adhere to our Chat Agreements to keep the chat safe for everyone. The chat is based in San Mateo County, California, but anyone can use our service. You can also submit a question to be answered on our Q&A page or check out Resources for additional information and support.

    Serenity House offers short-term residential services for adults in a mental health crisis. We provide a safe place to stay and support individuals in their recovery.

    The National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC) is the leading nonprofit in providing information and tools to prevent and respond to sexual violence.


    Suicide and Self Harm

    Suicide is preventable and mental health is treatable. There is help! During school hours, if you, or a friend, are having thoughts of hurting yourself or others, get help immediately from a trusted adult on campus or visit the counseling department.

    For life-threatening emergencies after school, on the weekends or during school breaks/holidays, you can call 9-1-1​, your local police department or visit the nearest emergency room if you can get there safely. 

    StarVista - Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention Center
    The StarVista Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention Center (CISPC) provides a 24-hour crisis hotline staffed by trained volunteers. Individuals are encouraged to call the hotline if they are in crisis or thinking about suicide, or are concerned about someone they know. The service is free and confidential.

    For Spanish Speakers: CISPC is a sponsor of the Bay Area crisis hotline for Spanish Speakers. The Linea de Crises is available 1pm – 9pm, seven days a week. 1-800-303-7432 – for Spanish

    For Youth: CISPC also offers a youth support and suicide prevention website at www.onyourmind.net. The website provides useful information and resources, and includes a peer-staffed chat room. Monday through Thursday, 4:30pm – 9:30pm. The chat room provides a safe, anonymous place for youth to receive support from other youth.

    The Child & Adolescent Hotline and Prevention Program (CAHPP) is a hotline that is available 24/7 for parents of children of all ages (0-18), as well as educators, counselors, doctors, coaches, and members of the community. CAHPP’s licensed clinicians respond to callers and texters with questions regarding a child who may be having difficulty reaching developmental milestones or is exhibiting concerning and/or unusual behavior; for example, a child who is easily frustrated or discouraged; inattentive; a loner or excessively shy; constantly seeking attention; or noncompliant.
