Dear Capuchino Family,
I’m proud to be a member of the Mustang community! Prior to coming onboard, I was an English teacher for 13 years at Newark Memorial High School, working closely for the Puente high school program to support first-generation scholars in reaching college and career aspirations. I was also an instructional coach and professional development coordinator, collaborating with teachers and administrators to grow professional learning communities that use assessment data, student feedback, and research to improve school and classroom practices.
School to me is an extension of family. I feel privileged to have this opportunity to help provide a high school experience that I would want for my own two kids. Being an English Learner who spent half of my childhood in Taiwan and half in California, I am thrilled to be working for our IB school that values multiple cultures, languages, and perspectives. Community service, real world applications of learning, and restorative practices are some areas of my professional passion.
Outside of work, I love hiking and traveling with my partner and two boys, cooking, and photography. Lifelong learning is important to me, so you might also find me in a screenprinting or Spanish class.
