New Materials Distribution & Lifetouch Photos September 2-4

Are you ready to get your ID photo taken, and to pick up any additional materials you need?? We’re ready for you to do just that! This week from 9/2-9/4, we’ll have additional materials distribution along with Lifetouch on campus for photos!

    Here’s the schedule:

    Wednesday 9/2 - 12th grade only 12:30-4:30

    Thursday 9/3 - 11th grade & 12th grade makeups 12:30-4:30

    Friday 9/4 - 9th & 10th grade & makeups 10:30-3:30

You should plan to come as early as possible without missing classes.

Students will enter campus through the student Parking Lot, either on foot or by driving in and parking their cars. We will do a symptom screening & temperature check for every student, and will require mask wearing and strict social distancing during the entire time. All walk-ways will be one-directional, and students will be required to follow all signage.

Students should print out the page we'll send out via email if possible, and fill in the course names of the classes they need materials for. There will be copies of this form available on campus as well. When you arrive, you will provide this class schedule/ materials-needed list at the tables near the glass doors, and staff will retrieve any items needed. We will pre-checkout any items we can based on the requests you have already submitted. IF YOU HAVE LAST YEAR’S STUDENT ID, PLEASE BRING IT WITH YOU - THIS WILL SPEED UP THE PROCESS A LOT!

    8/25/2020

Hello Vikings! Week 2 of school is almost halfway through already, which means it's the right time to start collecting those books and materials you had left over from last year, along with anything you were issued in your Book Box before school starts that you don't need anymore. For both materials drop off and additional item pickup, you will need to have a symptom and temperature check when you get out of your car.

Tomorrow 8/26, Thursday 8/27, & Friday 8/28 from 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM you should bring *ANY* of these items that you may have back to Mills at the front office so we can check them in:
    ---Books
    ---Chromebooks
    ---Chargers
    ---Hotspots
    ---Athletics equipment
    ---Calculators
---Any other items that belong to Mills - if you do not return the items checked out to you, we may have to assess a fine :-(

Next week, on Wednesday 9/2 (12th Grade), Thursday 9/3 (11th Grade), and Friday 9/4 (9th & 10th Grade, makeups) you will be able to come to Mills to the student parking lot between 12:30-4:30  on Wednesday & Thursday, and 10:30-3:30 on Friday to pick up new books or other items that you need, and weather-permitting, to take your School ID photo.

Items available for pickup may include:
--- Textbooks for classes including Physics, APES, APUSH, and others
--- Packets for Nutrition, English, Spanish, or other classes
    --- Graphing Calculators
--- Other novels or textbooks for newly added classes
--- Replacement technology for items that you have been issued
    --- Other items
--- We will *not* have additional hotspots at this time If you have any questions or additional needs, please let Ms. Schlax know. Thanks for being EPIC!

    8/4/2020 Email to Families

    Hello Mills families:

Registration, like everything this year, will be different from previous years. While we had originally planned to hold a socially-distant walk-through registration with photos and fun, the addition of San Mateo County to the state’s COVID-19 watchlist makes that an activity we will be holding off on until it’s safer for our students, teachers, and staff.

Instead, we will pre-prepare student technology, textbooks, class supply packs, and last year’s locker contents for each student and have them ready to pick up in one go. To update our AERIES and be able to provide students with updated IDs if needed, we will take a picture of you from your car and use that until our Lifetouch school photo day. School photo day is currently scheduled for the first week in September when we will hopefully have better health statistics in our county and can do the start-of-school rituals we all love safely.

When you arrive at Mills, you will be asked to remain in your car. You’ll:

    1. Check in at the student parking lot and provide your name & appointment time
    2. We will take a photo of you to update our systems with.
    3. You’ll then be asked to pull forward to a book-box station.
    4. We will ask you to open the trunk of your car, or a back seat, while remaining inside your car, and we will place a box of items specifically assembled for you into the car.
    5. Once you have your items, you can pull forward and ask any clarifying questions you have. We can help you schedule an appointment with your counselor, complete your summer census, and give information about what the school year looks like.
    6. You will need to remain in your car throughout the process.
    7. Please do not bring textbooks or other items to return at this time - we will not be accepting them

Note: you will not be able to get out of your car during this visit to Mills.

***If you do not have a car you can use, we will provide you with your chromebook only and will contact you to make arrangements for delivery of other items.***

At your registration time you will receive:

    1. Your textbooks for the first 6 weeks of school
    2. Your locker contents from the 2019-2020 school year, if you still have any
    3. Information about orientation and the beginning of the school year online on August 17th
    4. Supply kits from teachers for specific classes
    5. A chromebook and/or hotspot as needed for Distance Learning access
    6. A draft copy of your schedule - the classes you are in are not likely to change, but the periods they are listed for might.
    7. Resources for help with completing the summer information confirmation, scheduling appointments with counselors, and for staying connected with Mills.

The schedule for registration is as follows:
