Jacqueline Rogers

My name is Jacqueline Rogers and I am excited to start my first year at Capuchino High as a 10th grade Modern World History and Contemporary World Studies teacher. I am a Bay Area native and was raised in Half Moon Bay. After earning my Bachelor’s degree in History and Ethnic Studies at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, I left California and joined AmeriCorps to complete a year of community service in East Harlem, New York. I went on to earn a Master’s degree in Adolescent Education from Union College and began my teaching career in Upstate New York. In 2010, my husband and I moved to Washington, D.C. where I taught middle and high school social studies in Arlington, Virginia. We recently moved back to the Bay Area to be closer to our family.

I have experience in teaching many subjects in social studies including AP World History, Ancient and Modern World History, Sociology, US History and Government, and World Geography. My goal for my students is that they become more educated about the world and learn how to become critical thinkers and active citizens.

When I am not teaching, I spend time with my husband and two young children. My favorite things are my family, traveling, taking naps, and eating french fries.
