• Hillsdale High School Peace Pantry

Hillsdale recognizes more than ever a dramatic rise in cost of living in our community. The cost of rent coupled with the high cost of living in San Mateo has put significant financial pressure on many of our Hillsdale students and families. Hillsdale believes strongly in rallying our community to support our most struggling families and is asking for your help. Hillsdale,  in partnership with the PTSO is asking for your help in starting the Hillsdale Peace Pantry.

On May 1st, Hillsdale will open our Peace Pantry. We are asking for your help in stocking our pantry with non-perishable goods, basic hygiene products and essential items. On the first and third Monday of each month, designated families will receive a care package that we hope will last two weeks. In addition, the Peace Pantry will include seasonal items which support families with addition needs. In August, we hope to stock the pantry with school supplies and in December we will look to include essential items to support families for the winter months.

How can the Hillsdale community help:

    1. Starting April 8th, Hillsdale families may drop donations off in the Hillsdale main office. Please make sure you indicate Hillsdale-Peace Pantry on your donation.
    2. Visit this page in the future for updates on how to make a monetary donation towards this cause.

In the coming months, Hillsdale hopes to build a community partnership with local churches as well as local businesses and corporations. Hillsdale will also work to set up an Amazon Wish List so busy families can mail donations directly to Hillsdale. Hillsdale also hopes to have a PayPal account that will link directly to the PTSO which can accept donations to support the Hillsdale Peace Pantry. There are many acts of kindness that contribute to making a great community but no act is more important than supporting those within the community who have  the greatest need!
