Welcome to the athletics department!
Students who partake in sports within the school community get to experience unique and life-changing moments in their lives, thanks to the athletics department of the San Mateo Union High School District. Sports are a great way for individuals to make lasting friendships, unbreakable community bonds, and extraordinary memories, showing students how to lead each other and work together toward a common goal. Sports teach leadership and teamwork that will carry through the rest of a student’s life, providing for further successes in the future.
Sports bring communities together, help to create pragmatic and inventive individuals, and even chemically alter the way that students process information through exercise. The San Mateo Union High School District’s goal is to make sure that all students are cared for, and student athletes are an important aspect in our community.
Student athletics are an important factor in any school, and the San Mateo Union High School District strives to provide helpful and supportive programs for student athletes, such as necessary concussion provisions, information needed for annual physicals, and access to school’s coaches, athletic directors, and athletic trainers.
An Update on Spectators at Athletic Events
The County has released new guidelines on allowing spectators at athletic events. The important highlights are that no more than four family members including no more than two adults and siblings may attend athletic events as spectators. All observers must maintain at least 6 feet from non-household members.
