In my free time I enjoy the outdoors; backpacking, camping, hiking, kayaking, cycling, etc..
I got into teaching because I truly enjoy working with young adults. Having an opportunity to have an impact on students is at the core of teaching and is what keeps me motivated to teach.
The most inspiring place I have visited is Glacier National Park. Nature inspires me.
I majored in History with a minor in Philosophy and am fortunate enough to teach the content that I find most interesting, the Enlightenment and Political Revolutions at the Freshman level.
I am originally from San Diego, but went to UC Santa Cruz for my undergrad before getting my teaching credential from San Diego State University. In 2011 I made the move to the Bay Area and couldn't be happier up here.

lthough I am not fluent, I have some conversational Spanish due to studying Spanish in high school and college and spending six months traveling in Central American when I was 20.
