Mobile Device Consequences

Consequences

1st Offense

  • Teacher confiscates the device.
  • Student retrieves the device from the teacher at the end of class or the school day.

2nd Offense

  • Teacher confiscates the device.
  • Device is taken to the Main Office/Dean.
  • Student retrieves the device from the office at the end of the school day.

3rd Offense

  • Device turned over to Administration.
  • Administrative detention assigned.
  • Parent/guardian must retrieve the device.

4th Offense

  • Loss of device privilege.
  • Student must check their phone into the office daily or the device may be prohibited on campus.
  • Behavioral intervention plan implemented for continuous insubordination. 


Refusal to surrender a device is considered insubordination and may immediately escalate to a 3rd or 4th offense.

Students with approved medical accommodations (504, IEP, or medical waiver) are exempt when devices are used for documented medical purposes.

Staff are expected to enforce the policy consistently, and confiscated devices must be stored securely.
