Dear San Mateo Union High School District Community,

As we close the chapter on the 2024-25 school year and begin a new school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the remarkable achievements that define this year as one of growth, learning and shared success. It is with great pride that I introduce this year’s edition of The Spotlight: 2024-25 - A Year of Student and Educator Learning and Success.

Everything you see in these pages, every story of academic excellence, student voice, equity in action and vibrant school culture, has been made possible by YOU.

Whether you are a student, an adult learner, a family member, an educator, a community partner or a neighbor, your contributions and support are what make our work meaningful and impactful.

The San Mateo Union High School District is composed of 10 schools spanning six cities, and together, we are ONE District with a shared commitment to student success. As you read this report, I hope you see yourself, your student or your community reflected in the stories we share. They are a celebration of our collective effort.

Our mission goes beyond academics. We aim to create inclusive, safe and enriching environments where every student graduates and every student is empowered to thrive.

With only four years to prepare our students for life beyond high school, we are intentional with every opportunity - providing strong instruction, social-emotional support, and access to experiences that expand horizons and foster purpose.
