Multilingual Learner Program Staff

The District Testing Assistant, Araceli Guizar,  works closely with all Multilingual Learner students upon entering our district. As a former English Language Development student who came to the United States as a teenager and is now a college graduate, she understands the unique and empowering experience of being an Multilingual Learner student. She administers all of the academic assessments and helps introduce our new English Learners to our schools. Our testing assistant helps coordinate our annual California English Language Proficiency testing, as well as supports our family engagement efforts and District English Learner Advisory Committee.

We are fortunate to have an English Learner Specialist at each of our sites. Our English Learner Specialists carry out the annual California English Language Proficiency testing as their site, maintain English Learner student records, oversee English Learner data, and work with teachers to support English Learner academic achievement.

We have bilingual instructional assistants who work in both our English Language Development and English Learner content classes. Our instructional assistants enable teachers to differentiate instruction for students and are an additional educator supporting the academic needs of our Multilingual Learners.
