June 5 Update from Summer School Principal Dr. Ron Campana

2024 Summer School Credit Recovery Students and Families,

Welcome to another year of summer school at Capuchino High School. Please ensure you know which session(s) you are enrolled in before June 10. This year, session #1 starts on Monday, June 10, and session #2 starts on Wednesday, June 26 at 8:30 am. Student schedules and the courses, as well as teacher and room numbers, are in Aeries. The summer school office will be open on Thursday, June 6th, and Friday, June 7th, from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Capuchino High School College and Career Center. The first day of classes for session #1 is Monday, June 10, starting at 8:30 a.m. and ending at 12:50 p.m.

Food will be available daily before school and at brunch from 10:30 – 10:45 a.m.

Bus service is available from each student’s home school.

SamTrans passes are available for students to use during the summer months. Please come to the summer school office (College and Career Center) to receive a pass.

Students will receive instructions on the first day of their summer school classes from their teachers on how they will complete their classes remotely, including how to use “Google Meets” during class time. Remember, on remote days, students must be in class from 8:30 a.m. - 12:50 p.m.with a break from 10:30-10:50 a.m.

(Remote Days: Session #1 = 6/14, 6/17, 6/21, 6/24 AND Session #2 = 6/28, 7/1, 7/5 & 7/8)

Students in PE must come to the first day of summer school with PE attire to complete athletic activities. All PE classes will expect students to participate in the swim unit; every student should have appropriate swim attire and a towel. PE classes have no remote days, and all are held in person.

If a student misses more than two full days’ worth of classes in a session, they may be dropped from summer school regardless of their grades. Missing class will impact the student's final grades, so any absences must be communicated with the summer school office (650-558-2797) and their summer school teacher.
