    EXERCISES TO HELP PREVENT FALLS– 12 weeks

    This class is designed to support and maintain overall fitness for senior adults 70 and better! The goal of this class is to help you improve muscle strength and support better balance - thus reduce the risk of falling Exercise routines are specifically intended to strengthen major muscle groups in the legs and arms, and promote better circulation, in the extremities. You’ll learn exercises to help maintain continued agility and strength in hands and feet, and to ease tension in your neck and shoulder area. Some exercises are done seated; others while standing, using a chair for support. Class size is limited to 12 . Guest passes not accepted.   Bring 2lb. hand weights. Resistance bands provided.

    BETTER BALANCE: LEVEL 1 - 12 WEEKS

    Rebuild your strength and fine-tune your flexibility in this seated exercise class designed for older adults who are starting to experience some mobility difficulties. You will practice a variety of movements designed to improve your posture, increase muscle strength, lower your risk for falls, and prepare you for functional Level 2 balance exercises. Class size is limited to 12. Guest passes not accepted for any of the Better Balance classes.

    BETTER BALANCE: LEVEL 2

    Improve your balance and lower your risk for falls in this 60 minute exercise class. You will practice simple, effective movements to help increase leg strength, enhance your flexibility, and improve your posture. This class combines seated, standing and gait exercises designed to challenge and increase your functional balance skills. Class size is limited to 20.  Guest passes not accepted for any of the Better Balance classes. 

    Pre-requisite:  For safety reasons, you must complete Better Balance: Level 1 and/or have instructor approval prior to registering for Level 2.

    BETTER BONES: EXERCISES FOR OSTEOPOROSIS - 14 WEEK INTENSIVE

    Exercise is powerful medicine for people with osteoporosis. It helps reduce bone loss and builds stronger muscles to support you. In this gentle-Pilates based fitness program you will practice safe and effective standing, seated and floor exercises designed to improve posture and balance, and increase strength and flexibility. Must be able to safely and independently get down to and up from the floor. Bring a mat and pillow. Class limited to 15 students. No guest passes accepted.
