Exploring College Opportunities Workshop

Are you a rising senior interested in learning more about college opportunities? If so, please join fellow students at a free one-week workshop Exploring College Opportunities presented by SMUHSD College and Career Advisors - June 3-7 from 9 a.m.-noon (location TBD).

Topics and activities will include:

  • Four-year college options (including what makes a college a good social, academic, financial and environmental “fit”)

  • Exploring Career interests

  • Matching majors to colleges

  • Financial aid and tips for talking with a parent about money

  • Hear from current college students

Summer School Opportunities

The San Mateo Union High School District is partnering with the College of San Mateo to offer five summer enrichment courses in which students can earn both community college and high school credits for free.The following courses are open to ALL SMUHSD students and are taught at San Mateo High School: Public Speaking and College and Academic Success. The following courses (also open to all students) will be taught online: Introduction to Film; Introduction to Business and Digital Media Center Pathways. Classes run from June 10-25 (session 1) and  June 26-July 12 (session 2 - no school July 4).  Visit www.smuhsd.org/summerschool or talk to you counselor for more information about enrolling today.
