Congratulations to Library Media Tech Jasmine Causor of San Mateo High School, she was selected as the November Classified Golden Apple award recipient. Jasmine was nominated by several colleagues and the following are excerpts from what they had to say about her:

"She has embraced new duties and proven to be a great thought partner when re-imagining processes and procedures. Jasmine has led the charge of checking out Chromebooks and textbooks to SMHS students. She was a great thought partner when we needed to develop and facilitate our tech orientation process for newly enrolled students. With exceptional care and patience, Jasmine personally orients our new ELD 1 students, many of whom have never used a computer before, to Canvas, Aeries, and Google. This is not an easy feat, especially when attempting to provide this training via Zoom."

"Jasmine has been essential in these recent months. From the very beginning of the year (arriving early to help with distribution dates and check out materials) until just yesterday when she was sitting in the QUAD helping a student navigate Canvas challenges - she is literally helping our students stay connected and engaged! After students have the opportunity to meet with Jasmine, they always feel more confident and engaged with distance learning."

"She went above and beyond to make sure textbooks, Chromebooks, etc. were checked in especially from Seniors who were graduating. We had a grad-and-go graduation and materials needed to be accounted for before the Seniors would receive their diplomas. Jasmine sometimes would stay after the end of her workday to see that that would happen."

"Jasmine has given so much of her time to ensure that our materials distribution days run smoothly. She is able to connect with students and guide them with tech challenges as well. I really appreciate her willingness to be present on campus and be such a team player in order to ensure that our students have what they need!"

"There is no project or idea too big for her. She has been working diligently with our students and teachers all year while working toward her Masters Degree. Being bi-lingual, she has been a real asset to all of our students, teachers, parents and coworkers at SMHS. There are many times she comes and helps our front office with parents. She has been providing a safe environment for our students in the library for years. Her generous and kind nature makes everyone feel comfortable. She represents Peace, Passion and Pride."

"Jasmine is such a gem at our school. Not only does she connect and build rapport with every student who walks into the library, but is constantly going above and beyond to support all endeavors put on her plate."

"I don't know where we'd be without Jasmine. Since our March shutdown, Jasmine has always put our students first, getting what they needed into the right hands. She is bilingual Spanish, which is a HUGE advantage when answering calls from students and parents/guardians to troubleshoot tech issues and provides training to new students on how to use CANVAS. She has great relationships with both faculty, staff, students and the community."

Congratulations Jasmine!
