The Eat Healthy Be Active Community Health Program at San Mateo Adult & Career Education was recently awarded a grant by the Peninsula Health Care District (PHCD) at their "Making a Difference Together", 12th Annual Community Partners Event on January 29, 2020.
Adult School Career Education & Community Health Coordinator / Teacher Stephanie Kriebel accepted the grant on behalf of the school.
The Eat Healthy, Be Active Program is a free program offered to all community members who want to learn how to live healthy, happy lives for themselves and their families
The program aims to help students with the following: • Identify what creates a healthy lifestyle • Become a nutritious food detective • Prepare flavorful healthy meals and tasty snacks • Be a smart and savvy shopper on a budget • Discover stress management techniques and how mindfulness & meditation can benefit your health • Make exercise fun • Improve your English while you learn!
Classes include food tastings and field trips! 6 Saturdays: 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. February 22, 29, March 7, 14, 21, 28 Cost: FREE
