Pride Prom 2025

On April 18, 2025, we welcomed approximately 200 San Mateo County students to the College of San Mateo for the third annual Pride Prom! It was an incredible evening filled with celebration, dancing, games, and lasting memories in a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment where students could be their authentic selves.

The event was made possible through the collaborative efforts of a dedicated volunteer planning team, who coordinated event logistics, managed volunteer sign-ups, oversaw student registration, and facilitated a post-event survey to continue improving future Pride Proms.

Students enjoyed the musical stylings of DJ Steve-O (Steve Meyer), who kept the dance floor lively all night. Guests were also treated to a delicious dessert station featuring a chocolate fountain, prepared by culinary teachers Scott Sachs and Craig Barnard. Entertainment included casino games, a Mario Kart station, and other activities.

Community Partners
We are grateful to our Community Partners who helped bring this event to life, including the San Mateo County Office of Education, College of San Mateo, Coast Pride, the LGBTQ Commission of San Mateo County, and the San Mateo Pride Center.

Volunteers
A heartfelt thank you to the more than 25 volunteers who supported the event with setup, guest registration, activity facilitation, and clean-up. Volunteers included staff from across San Mateo County districts, the San Mateo County Office of Education, the San Mateo County Community College District, parents/guardians, and community members who came together to create a memorable and joyful evening.
